Elizabeth Ann Early was born on Dec. 26, 1941, in Davenport, the daughter of Clement and Juanita (Van Pelt) Early. She married William Bolton on June 4, 1960. Betty was a member and active volunteer at St. Ann’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed bird watching, gardening, hiking, geocaching, and, most of all, shopping. She was also an avid reader and loved playing computer games and doing puzzles. Most importantly, Betty did what she had always dreamed of doing, and that was being a wonderful wife and mother.

She is survived by her husband, William Bolton of Long Grove; her eight children, Sue (Jeff) Bruhn of Golden Valley, Minn., Ray Bolton of Davenport, Julie (Jeff) Perkins of Neenah, Wis., Linda Bolton of Preston, Iowa, Chris Bolton of Covington, La., Michael Bolton of Bettendorf, Mary (James) Hill of Eldridge, Shawn Bolton of Long Grove; a sister, Virginia (George) Bolton of San Diego, Calif.; 14 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary and Marge; and a daughter-in-law, Margo.

Memorials may be directed to St. Ann’s Parish, the American Heart Association, or to the American Diabetes Association.
