Charles August Dege lost his battle with Alzheimer's on March 2, 2018, at 82 years old. He passed away peacefully with family by his side. Chuck was preceded in death by parents Edward Sr. and Marguerite Lindberg Dege, brother Edward (Jane) Dege Jr. and first wife Dolores Bolon Dege. Survived by six children, Jeffrey Dege, Joy Meyers, Jay Dege (Logan), Sally Dege, Brandon Dege (Corinne) and James Taylor (Tess); 10 grandchildren, Nicholas Meyers (Susan), Benjamin Meyers (Nicole), Adrien Dege, William Dege, Kristina Dege, Jacob Dege, Reese Dege, Abraham Dege, Jenn Taylor-Smith (Nick), and Jackie Taylor-Landwehr (Shaun); six great-grandchildren, second wife Linda Knote (Lawson), and loving friend Barbara Rees. Born in Moline, Nov. 16, 1935. Chuck graduated from Moline High School in 1953 where he made life-long friends. He enlisted in the U.S. Army after one year of college serving in Korea and California 1955-1957. He earned his bachelor of economics degree from St. Ambrose University in 1961 and started a sales career at IBM. Chuck continued working in sales for Quincy Compressors before establishing several companies in the compressor industry. The last company he founded is now owned and managed by his youngest son Brandon Charles Dege (second wife Linda) and grandson Adrien Alexander Dege. Charlie's humor touched everyone he met and will be sorely missed. A life-long sports enthusiast with a passion for golf, Charles considered Cartersville Country Club his home away from home. Family and friends are welcome to gather there for a celebration of his life on June 2, 2018. Memorial tributes can be made to the Alzheimer's Association in Chuck's memory thru Arrangements made through Georgia Funeral Care and Cremation Services in Acworth, Georgia.
