DAVENPORT — Eleanor H. Mooney, 91, of Davenport, passed away Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Genesis Medical Center-East Rusholme Street, Davenport. Memorial services in celebration of her life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 8, at Koning Chapel, Ridgecrest Village, Davenport, where her family will greet friends from 9:30 a.m. until time of service. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Davenport. Memorials may be made to St. John's United Methodist Church Foundation, Davenport; Bettendorf Rotary - the Chuck Mooney Foundation; or to Ridgecrest Foundation. Weerts Funeral Home, Davenport, is assisting her family with arrangements.
Mrs. Mooney was born in 1926 in Juniata, Pa., o William and Ruth Heckman. She married Charles "Chuck" Mooney on May 7, 1949 in Schenectady, N.Y. He preceded her in death May 12, 2014. She worked as a bookkeeper for several businesses. She was an active member of St. John's United Methodist Church where she enjoyed working on various committees, participated in the 49ers Sunday school class, the United Methodist Women and the Chancel Choir. She was also a Paul Harris Fellow through Bettendorf Rotary.
Survivors include her daughter, Karen (John) Wagner of Cedar Rapids; son, Howard Mooney of South Elgin, Ill.; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers.
