MILAN - Jack V. Sandlin, 83, of Milan, passed away Friday, September 15, 2017, at University Hospitals, Iowa City.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 20, at DeRoo Funeral Home, Moline. Visitation is Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial is at Roselawn Memorial Estates, Moline. Memorials may be given to a favorite charity.
Jack was born September 19, 1933, in Winfield, Alabama, the son of Vernell and Ruby (Morgan) Sandlin. He married Imogene Martin on July 20, 1955, in Mississippi. She preceded him in death in 2001. He later married Donna Allison on November 24, 1987, in Rock Island.
He was employed as a Structural Mechanic for Western Structural Co., Moline, for 30 years, retiring in 1998. Jack enjoyed spending time outdoors, camping and fishing. He was a member of Sunset Lakes, Joslin, Illinois.
He is survived by his wife, Donna; daughters and sons-in-law, Sherry and Don Hartman, Moline, Karen and Tony Dietrich, Coal Valley, Debbie and Larry Stacy, Moline, and Ann and Rex Hart, Lebanon, Missouri; son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Kris Sandlin, Colona; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; step-daughters and spouses, Terri Willets, Milan, Diane and Todd DePaepe, Rock Island, Connie Blair, Decatur, Illinois, Tina and Rick Meirbaeghe, Milan and sisters, Beverly Sandlin, Rock Island, and Margaret Corkeren, Winfield, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Norma Anderson; and brother, Louis Sandlin.
