DAVENPORT — Jean M. Ware, 73, of Davenport, passed away Friday, December 1, at her home. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 7, at 10:30 a.m. at Weerts Funeral Home, Jersey Ridge and Kimberly roads, Davenport. She will be buried next to her husband in Alabama. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials in Jean's name be made to the King's Harvest Pet Rescue in Davenport.
Jean was born on January 26, 1944, to Ruth and Gene Milstead in Sheffield, Alabama. She graduated from Sheffield High School in 1963. On June 20, 1964, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Don William Ware, who passed away on March 1, 1992. Growing up in Alabama, Jean was a huge Alabama Crimson Tide fan, and brought the tradition of watching them play with her to Iowa. Roll Tide. Jean loved her family more than anything, and looked forward to spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her three loving sons, Stephen (Renuka) Ware, Wesley (Amy) Ware and Stuart (Melissa) Ware; and seven wonderful grandchildren, Shalini, Topher, David, Allen, Connor, Morgan and Raegan. She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
