SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Joyce passed away unexpectedly Feb. 6, 2017, in Scottsdale.

Joyce was a proud 1957 graduate of ICA in Davenport. She moved to Arizona in the late '60s. Joyce married Charles Horky, a marine captain, in 1972 on St. Pat’s Day. Joyce lost her beloved Charles to cancer in 1995.

Joyce, an accomplished artist, carried on and also helped and cared for the handicapped children at Marc Center in Scottsdale. Joyce did make a solo trip to Ireland to trace her Fitzgerald ancestry. Joyce loved music and made countless trips to Davenport for Bix Fest. In addition to the Bix, she would take the opportunity to visit her longtime friends in the Quad-Cities.

Those left to cherish her memory are brothers, Ron and Jim; sister-in-law, Connie; niece, Trisha, and her daughter, Tori; and great-niece and nephew, Parker and Calvin. She will be missed by her countless friends in Iowa and Arizona.

Joyce was buried and laid aside her husband, Charles, at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix.

She was preceded in death by Ron’s wife, Gigi, and her mom and dad, Al and Marjorie Crossen.
