GENESEO, Ill. — Mark A. Larson, 50, of Geneseo, Ill., passed away Friday, April 5, 2013, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria. Funeral services celebrating Mark’s life will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 10, at Vandemore Funeral Home, Geneseo. Burial will follow in Dayton Corners Cemetery, Colona. Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be left to the Mark Larson Memorial Fund. The family requests casual attire for those attending.

Mark was born Nov. 25, 1962, in Moline, the son of Lester and Lillian (Bekerian) Larson. He was a 1981 graduate of J.D. Darnall High School in Geneseo and was united in marriage to Phyllis Gay Peasley on Dec. 4, 1989, in Las Vegas, Nev. He was the co-founder, co-owner with his brother, and president of Rock River Arms, Inc. of Colona. Mark was a member of the NRA, OGCA, ISRA and Illinois Firearms Manufacturers Association. He enjoyed mushrooming, fishing for crappies, gardening, his cars, and cooking and feeding his family and friends. He loved his dogs, Daisy, Dozer and Rowdy, and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife Gay; his parents, Lester and Lillian Larson of Cleveland, Ill.; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Michael Larson of Carbon Cliff, and Lester C. “Chuck” (Melissa) Larson Jr. of Geneseo; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Lisa (Gary) Sides of Cleveland, Ill., and Linda (Jim) White of Cleveland, Ill.; 12 nieces and nephews, Chad, Jennie, Matt, Jeremy, Sara, Katie, Kenneth, Kassandra, Kyle, Jake, Trenton and Logan; and four great-nieces and nephews, Kaya, Gage, Paige and Bradlee.

Mark was preceded in death by his grandparents, two uncles, two cousins, and loyal companion, Saddie.
