DURANT, Iowa — Mary Ann Johannsen, 89, of Durant, Iowa, passed away Thursday, November 9, 2017, at Good Samaritan Society Nursing Home, Davenport.

Mary Ann was born in Moline on July 3, 1928, the daughter of Rene and Lucienne (Van Sevenandt) Noe.

Mary Ann graduated from high school in Moline. She married William L. Johannsen on August 27, 1949, in Moline. He preceded her in death on August 11, 2001.

She worked for the Durant Library for many years.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Wilton, Iowa, where she was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. Mary Ann was a founding member of the Durant Lioness and active on the Polka Fest Committee. Mary Ann enjoyed reading, sewing and dancing. Above all, she loved her family, especially her great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 15, 2017, from 4-7 p.m. at Bentley Funeral Home in Durant.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, November 16, 2017, at 1 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Wilton. An additional hour of visitation will be held just prior to the service.

Interment will be at the Durant Cemetery.

Mary Ann is survived and lovingly remembered by her daughters, Luanne (Mike) Manno of West Des Moines and Annette Richardson of Durant; her sons, Stephen Johannsen of Davenport and James Johannsen of Davenport; ywo grandchildren, Justin (Anna) Richardson and Brianna Richardson; and two great-grandchildren. William and Jocelynn.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her brothers, Richard and Robert Noe.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church or the Durant Ambulance in her memory.
