DAVENPORT — Funeral services and memorial Mass of Christian Burial for Dr. Ronald Joseph "Josef" Hofmann, 84, a resident of Davenport will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, 2016, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 417 Main St., downtown Davenport. All are invited to join the family at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 24, at the Lindsay Park Yacht Club, 2100 W. River Drive, Davenport, for a bike ride along Dr. Hofmann’s beloved riverfront. Departure is planned promptly at 10 a.m. In keeping with his wish, his body was donated to the University of Iowa Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology. A private family burial will be held at a later date in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport, is assisting the family with arrangements

Memorials may be made to River Action or Black Hawk College English as a Second Language Program.

Among his survivors are his wife, Edith “Tilis” Hofmann, Davenport; a son, Dr. R. Michael (Isabel) Hofmann, Grand Rapids, Michigan; grandchildren, Benjamin, Alexis and Brandon; and a brother, Dr. William (Eda) Hofmann, Pleasant Valley.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Edith Marie Hofmann in 1991, a sister and brother in-law, Mary Jo and Donald J. Heming; a brother and sister in-law, Robert and Marion Hofmann, and brothers, Jim Hofmann and Mike Hofmann.
