ELDRIDGE, Iowa - Susan Kay Rosenboom, 65, of Eldridge, Iowa, passed away at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, Iowa, on January 9, 2018, surrounded by her family after an extended battle with cancer. Per her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.
Susan was born March 22, 1952, in Davenport, Iowa. She was the daughter of Betty and Burnie Golden. She graduated from Central High School in 1970. Sue drove school bus for the North Scott School District for almost 40 years; retiring in 2016.
Susan was a member of First Christian Church and was involved with the QC Cruisers and Eastern Star. She enjoyed spending time with her family and spoiling her grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling, going to craft shows and line dancing. Sue has touched many lives during her short life and formed many lasting friendships. Her family thanks everyone who helped her along the way.
She is survived by her children, Mike Rosenboom (Kara) and Scott Rosenboom (Amy) both of Eldridge, grandchildren, Amber, Emily, Rika, Anna, Kenzie, Maddie, Mason, Carter, Brooklynn and Connor, great grandchildren, Lexi and Lili. Susan is also survived by her mother, Betty Golden, Eldridge, and sisters Nancy Decker (David) of California, Mary Jane Young (Charlie), DeWitt, Charlene Shellabarger (Wendell), Pleasant Hill, Iowa, and Betty Jane Golden, Davenport. Also friends Genevieve Harms, Davenport and Luann Baetke, Eldridge who were like sisters to Sue. She was preceded in death by her grandparents and father.
There will be a Celebration of Life reception/service on Saturday, January 27, 2018 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Eldridge Community Center with a short blessing at 11:30 a.m. followed by an Eastern Star funeral service.
