CLINTON — Viola Kinzler, 87, of Clinton, passed away Sunday, November 12, 2017, at Mercy Medical Center North. Funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m. Thursday, November 16, at the Pape Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Thursday 10 a.m. until the service hour at the funeral home. Burial will be at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Memorials may be given to First Congregational Church, Clinton. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com
Viola was born on June 18, 1930, in Fredonia, North Dakota, the daughter of Karl and Martha (Entzi) Munsch. She married Rueben Kinzler on June 26, 1949, in Gackle, North Dakota. She was a homemaker and enjoyed farming with her husband in North Dakota until 1957, where they moved to Clinton, Iowa. She was a member of First Congregational Church, Clinton. Viola enjoyed baking and traveling with her husband.
Viola is survived by her husband, Rueben Kinzler of Clinton; her son, Darrell (Kathleen) Kinzler of Houston, Texas; her grandson, David Kinzler of North Hampton, Massachusetts; her sister, Verna Schafer of Eugene, Oregon; and eight nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and two sisters.
