Hoops and hijinks are coming to the Quad-Cities on Nov. 6 when local challengers, the Optimist Slammers, take on the Harlem Ambassadors in a comedy basketball show for the whole family. The show starts at 7 p.m. in the Pleasant Valley High School Gym, 604 Belmont Road, Bettendorf.

Proceeds from the event benefit the River Valley Optimist Club and will be used to fund youth sports camps, scholarship programs and a food assistance program.

The Harlem Ambassadors offer a unique brand of Harlem-style basketball, featuring high-flying slam dunks, dazzling ball-handling tricks, hilarious comedy routines, music, dancing and games for the kids.

Tickets are on sale for $8 in advance and $10 at the door. Children 12 and younger are admitted free with paying adult.
