The “Spread the Joy II, Peanut Butter for the Food Pantries” campaign will be held Dec. 10-14 in Clinton to help stock area food banks with peanut butter, a commodity hard to come by because of high prices for peanut butter.

The drive is organized by KROS radio station for its second year.

“We had such a tremendous response last year with hundreds and hundreds of jars of peanut butter collected,” Greg Naftzger of KROS said. “This October, the Clinton Food Pantry contacted us to see if we were going to do another peanut butter drive as they had no peanut butter in stock. The Fulton Food Pantry has not received any peanut butter from their distributors since April and has had to go purchase their own peanut butter to distribute.”

Donations from the drive will go to Fulton, Thomson and Albany food banks in Illinois and Clinton and Camanche food banks in Iowa.
