Sterling, Ill., police are warning area residents and businesses to be on the lookout for counterfeit $10 and $20 bills.

Counterfeit bills were reportedly passed at two Sterling businesses. The incidents occurred on Sept. 18 and Sept. 19 when suspects purchased items using counterfeit $10 and $20 bills.

The $20 bills have a serial number of JA50877994A and the $10 bills have serial numbers of JF34075336A, II02299159A, GK3655709A and JF27125781A.

Police advise all businesses to use verification markers on all currency $10 and higher.
