The Quad-City Minority Partnership will host its 7th Annual Youth Conference and College Fair from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday at Western Illinois University-Quad-City Riverfront Campus in Moline.

About 150 high school students will participate in the event that will include sessions on financial aid and scholarships, health and wellness, making strategic academic and career decisions, success stories of local entrepreneurs and a panel of college students.

The conference is designed to inspire students to take positive and strategic action toward their future goals and aspirations while connecting with diverse educational and industry professionals sharing models of academic and career success.

The Quad-City Minority Partnership collaborates with area schools, community organizations and industry to empower minority and first-generation youth with programming that focuses on academics, careers, leadership and college preparation. The partnership also coordinates a math and science program to encourage careers in those areas.
