To kick off the spring home-buying season, several Quad-City real estate companies are participating in a national open house event that wraps up today.
As part of the Realtors Nationwide Open House Weekend, area homebuyers will find more open houses today than on a typical weekend.
"This event is a great way for buyers to get an idea of what they can afford and what kinds of homes are available in the local market," said Gene Holst, the chief executive officer of the Quad-City Area Realtor Association.
In addition, buyers can tour the latest in new home construction as the annual Spring Parade of Homes continues today and again on Wednesday and April 27-28 at 22 locations in the Iowa Quad-Cities. Hours are 1-5 p.m. on weekends and 5-8 p.m. Wednesday. The free event is sponsored by the Quad-City Builders & Remodelers Association.
