Following is a list of bazaars planned as fund-raisers by various Quad-City area churches, schools and other not-for-profit groups.

Beginning next Sunday and continuing weekly through the bazaar season, you’ll find a listing for the upcoming week in this section.

Wednesday, Oct. 3

Jackson County (Iowa) Historical Society Museum: Pioneer Day, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., 1212 E. Quarry St., Maquoketa. Cowboy mounted shooting and pioneer demonstrations, steam engine, crafts, bake sale, kids games, quilt show, country store and more. Cowboy cookout, butterfly pork chop ($6) or steak sandwich ($8). Also includes potato, beans, coleslaw, cookies and drink. Proceeds go to the historical society.

Wednesday, Oct. 10

Community United Church of Christ: annual smorgasbord, 4-7 p.m., 346 Chicago Ave., Savanna, Ill. Ham balls, chicken, roast pork, roast beef, squash, corn, carrots, salad bar. $7 in advance; $7.50 at the door. Proceeds go to the women’s fellowship for the church.

Illinois City (Ill.) United Methodist Church: Fall Dinner and Bazaar, 3-7 p.m., 12507 238th St. W, Illinois City. Homemade noodles and baked goods. Chicken noodle dinner, salads, desserts, vegetables, mashed potatoes, $8.50. Proceeds go to church projects.
