The American Red Cross of the Quad-Cities Area has announced that, in collaboration with KWQC, Clear Channel Radio and Quad-City Bank and Trust, $45,000 was raised for disaster relief during the Drive-by Drop-off donation drive on Nov. 2.

The Red Cross still needs the public’s help. To make a donation, visit redcross.org, call

1-800-733-2767 or text the word REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation. Contributions also can be mailed to the local Red Cross chapter at 1100 River Drive, Moline, IL 61265. Donations enable the Red Cross to prepare for and provide shelter, food, emotional support and other assistance in response to disasters.

The storm has also caused the cancellation of hundreds of Red Cross blood drives, resulting in a loss of as many as 11,000 blood products and people who are eligible are asked to schedule a blood donation now. To schedule a donation time or get more information about giving blood, visit redcrossblood.org or call 1-800-733-2767.
