Midwest Writing Center is taking registrations for its 7th annual Iron Pen Contest. The center will supply a prompt to all contestants at 5 p.m. Friday, Feb.20, and contestants have 24 hours to write and submit their best fiction, nonfiction or poetry pieces. Entries are due at 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21.

The cost to enter the Iron Pen contest is $10 per entry, per category. Contestant entries will be judged blind in genre categories of poetry, fiction and nonfiction. The Iron Pen contest is open to all ages.

Registration forms can be found online at www.midwestwritingcenter.org or at the Midwest Writing Center, 225 E. 2nd St., Suite 303, Davenport.

Participants in the 2015 Iron Pen Contest will have a chance to win a paid-in-full tuition with a value of $225 for the 2015 David R. Collins Writing Conference from June 25-27 at St. Ambrose University.
