The Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund is providing a series of free workshops throughout the state for seniors.
“Who Gets What, Who Does What?” is a two-hour presentation from the fund and the University of Illinois Extension Office’s Family Life Educators. Facilitators in seven locations will highlight the benefits of planning for major life changes.
The workshop is open to the public, but registration is required. All sessions are free. Attendees also may register a companion. Retirement fund retirees can sign up online through www.imrf.org and non-fund members can register at 800-275-4673 from 7:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Monday-Friday.
Facilitators will show seniors how preparation can help eliminate frustration. Retirees can learn how providing access to financial and health-care documents can help make stressful and upsetting situations more manageable.
Sessions also will prep seniors for passing along personal possessions.
