River Action will host its last rain barrel sale of the year from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday. Those interesting in purchasing a rain barrel should come to the east parking lot between Java Java and Fitz-Rite Custom Bath and Kitchen on River Drive between Federal and Tremont streets in Davenport. River Action staff will help load rain barrels into vehicles and answer questions.

The recycled, 60-gallon food-grade plastic barrels are equipped with a downspout diverter, a spigot, overflow valve and mosquito screen. Rain barrels capture and store water runoff from roofs during small to moderate storms, which can then be used to irrigate lawns and landscaped areas between storm events.

Barrels sell for $75 for a barrel with a standard-sized diverter and $80 for a larger diverter. Similar barrels retail in stores and catalogues sell for $135. Pay by check or cash at the time of sale or pre-order online at riveraction.org. Barrels are sold on a first-come, first-served basis.
