River Action Inc. will sell its rain barrels from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 13, at its headquarters in Davenport.

Stop at the east parking lot between Java Java and Fitz-Rite Custom Bath and Kitchen on River Drive between Federal and Tremont streets. Volunteers will help load it into a vehicle and answer questions.

The recycled, 60-gallon food-grade plastic barrels are equipped with a down-spout diverter, a spigot, overflow valve and mosquito screen. Rain barrels capture and store runoff from roofs during small to moderate storms, which can then be used to irrigate lawns and landscaped areas between storm events.

Cost is $75 for a barrel with a standard-sized diverter, and $80 for a larger diverter. Pay by check or cash, or pre-order online at
