A company reportedly selling advertising related to the Quad-Cities River Bandits is not authorized to sell on behalf of the team, River Bandits officials said today.

In a news release, the River Bandits said a company calling itself Sports Schedules has been contacting companies in the area, selling packages that include advertising on schedule posters and air time on cable networks.

The River Bandits said the company is not authorized by the team or the National Association of Professional Baseball Leagues to sell advertising or produce posters with team schedules. The team said businesses that are contacted should call the River Bandits at 563-324-3000 or the attorney general offices in Iowa or Illinois.

The team said only the front office staff of the River Bandits authorized to sell advertising in the River Bandits’ ballpark, as well as advertising in publications, pocket schedule, promotional material or any other items associated with the Quad-Cities River Bandits baseball club
