Workers removed temporary traffic control striping and a truck detour around Davenport’s East River Drive on Friday, but traffic still will be open only one lane each direction for the next three weeks.

Both outside lanes of East River Drive will be closed next week to compete work on storm sewers and sidewalks and complete some landscaping.

Beginning Monday, Bridge Avenue at East River Drive will be closed for water main and storm sewer work that is expected to be completed by Dec. 22, according to the city.

Starting Dec. 10, both eastbound lanes will be open, but the outside westbound lane will be closed for water and sewer and patching work to be done at Mississippi, Esplanade and College avenues. That work is expected to be finished by Dec. 22, and River Drive will be fully open for the winter.

Resurfacing work on East River Drive between Mound Street and Oneida Avenue will resume next spring, with remaining work expected to take about one month.
