Here’s the latest on the East River Drive resurfacing project from the city of Davenport.

River Drive between Mound Street and the east city limits has been paved and adjustments to the utility castings are currently under way. This section of roadway is expected to be completed and open to traffic by the end of the first week of December. No future closures on that section are expected.

The south half (eastbound lanes) of River Drive between Mound Street and Oneida Avenue will be resurfaced today. Utility castings will then be adjusted, the lanes striped and those lanes opened to traffic by the second or third week of December.

Westbound traffic will remain one lane with traffic running on the old surface while water valve work is completed in the northerly westbound lane. Water valve work should be completed and the entire section open and running four lanes by Christmas.

This section will be closed again in the spring with traffic running head to head in the south lanes while the old surface of the north lanes is resurfaced. That work should take about 3-4 weeks to complete.
