United Way of the Quad-Cities Area will receive $10 a person — up to a total of $500 — for participants in Thursday’s “Go Further with Ford Night”at Sexton Ford, Moline. The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and, according to a news release, is a finale to “Random Acts of Fusion,” a transmedia program hosted by “American Idol” host Ryan Seacrest.

“This is a great opportunity for the community to show support. The experience will test the consumers’ judging skills, a $ 10 donation will be made to United Way of the Quad-Cities Area for each participant, there will be a demonstration area for the all new Ford Fusion, with a chance to win a unique VIP ‘American Idol’ experience,” said Derek Lehmann, marketing manager for the dealership.

A computer with a webcam will be set up in the dealership to allow participants to view a special message from Seacrest and test their “American Idol” judging skills on camera.

Participants will have the opportunity to compete for an all-expenses-paid trip for two to Hollywood and a VIP experience with “American Idol.”
