The Quad-City Botanical Center and Family Resources recently partnered to plant a 1,200 square-foot community vegetable garden on Davenport's east side on the grounds of the Annie Wittenmyer complex.

Throughout the summer, the Quad-City Botanical Center will provide programming and education to the residents of the complex to help spread knowledge of a working vegetable garden. To find out more on how to get involved with helping maintain the community garden, or helping to teach the lessons, contact Greg Wolf at 309-794-0991, ext. 208, or email edu@qcgardens.com.

Eastern Iowa Community College will also provide STEM-related camp programming and education to the youth at Family Resources. In addition, it is hoped the garden will also include art, such as paintings, sculptures, and other creative projects to help beautify the grounds. These art projects also will be completed by the youth at the Family Resources.
