LeCLAIRE, Iowa — A fire Friday afternoon in the kitchen of historic Sneaky Pete’s Cowboy Steaks will cut off the food service until repairs are made, but the bar will remain open, LeClaire Fire Chief Terrance Rossmiller said.

The fire at the restaurant, 207 N. Cody Road, started in an exhaust fan above the stove, he said, adding that the fire was reported at 4:37 p.m.

It was nearly identical to a previous fire the department responded to at the restaurant, he said.

“There was a little more damage this time since it got into the walls and ceiling,” he said.

A damage estimate was not available Friday night.

No one was injured, he said.

The Princeton and Riverdale fire departments also responded to the scene.
