Wednesday night and Thursday rains bring a potential for flooding along area rivers and streams, according to a hazardous weather outlook issued today by the National Weather Service.

A strong storm system will move over the Plains bringing mainly rain to the region on Thursday, the advisory states.

Seasonably high rainfall is expected and may cause flooding issues because of the rapid runoff and snow melt. There will also be an increased chance for ice jams on area rivers and creeks.

Thunderstorms will be possible across the southeast portions of the state.
