Chief Judge Bobbie Alpers filed a court opinion today denying Stanley Liggins' application for post-conviction relief.

Liggins was convicted in Scott County for the murder of a 9-year-old girl in 1990.

Liggins, 49, was twice convicted of murdering Jennifer Lewis of Rock Island on Sept. 17, 1990. Her burned remains were found in the field behind a Davenport grade school.

In seeking another trial, Liggins claimed  that the prosecution did not make police reports and other documents available to his  defense.
