Variety the Children’s Charity will provide new bicycles Saturday to more than 100 students through the Bikes for Kids program at the Rock Island Academy, 930 14th St., Rock Island.

Modern Woodmen of America employees will help hand out bicycles to the children.

Students who were selected wrote a short paper or drew a picture describing why they would like to win a new bike, where they would ride it and how they would take care of it.

“Our students are very excited and very thankful that Variety has made this opportunity happen for them,” Rock Island Academy Principal Lucille Davis said.
