For today, the skies will be sunny with a high near 22 degrees and wind chill values as low as -15 degrees. Winds will be from the north.

Tonight will be partly cloudy with a low around 10 degrees and wind chill values as low as zero.

A winter storm is moving across the United States is scheduled to arrive tomorrow afternoon.

A National Weather Service winter storm watch is in effect from Thursday afternoon through Friday morning.  

According to the weather service, snow should reach the region in the early afternoon and will diminish in intensity overnight Thursday. Light snow will continue into Friday morning before ending.  

Total snow accumulation is forecasted in the 5-7 inch range.

With the snow will come east winds which will gust up to 30 mph. The winds will produce blowing and drifting snow and decreasing visibilities to one quarter of a mile.

Travel conditions will deteriorate rapidly once the snow begins. Travel will become hazardous with roads becoming quickly snow covered and icy. So travel is not advised.
