The Thomson Causeway recreation area will reopen partially at noon today, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mississippi River Project announced. The area had been closed because of flooding.

Facilities that will be available include 78 campsites in Potter’s Marsh, three shower buildings, boat ramp, playgrounds, picnic shelters, amphitheater and law enforcement and ranger patrol. The Hickory Point and Riverbirch camping loops will remained closed until the entire area is back in full operation.

The recreation area is located on Lewis Avenue in Thomson, Ill. For more information, contact Thomson Park Rangers at 815-259-3628.
