It’s almost time to get rid of those old Christmas trees. Here are rules for disposal of live Christmas trees by city:
Bettendorf — Tree collection has begun and continues through Jan. 10 on residents’ normal collection day. All ornaments, plastic wrap and tree stands must be removed. No sticker required. Trees should be left at regular collection site by 7 a.m.
Davenport — Trees may be placed for curbside collection through Jan. 11 on the residents’ normal garbage day and must be free of all decorations, including the tree stand, and not be wrapped in plastic. After Jan. 11, trees may be taken to the compost facility for free drop-off.
Moline — Crews will pick up trees for free from Dec. 31 to Jan. 11.
