The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mississippi River Project will offer a closeup and informational look at historic Arsenal Island by bicycle.

A 6-mile ride will be held from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13. Historic points of interest include Col. Davenport’s Home, the old Moline Lock, Arsenal Quarters 1 and the Confederate Cemetery. The tour will begin and end at the Mississippi River Visitor Center on the western end of Arsenal Island at Lock and Dam 15. The free tour is limited to 15 bicyclists. Advance registration is required and helmets are mandatory. An adult must accompany children under 12 years of age. All persons over age 16 must carry a photo ID to enter the island.
