Quad-City women and girls interested in learning how to golf are invited to a special Women's Golf Day event Tuesday at TPC Deere Run, Silvis.

Women's Golf Day is a worldwide initiative providing a fun, non-intimidating environment for aspiring golfers to try the game for the first time. More than 650 golf courses around the globe will offer the special Women's Golf Day event.

The TPC Network of courses, including Deere Run, have banded together to join the Women's Golf Day organization. Deere Run is host of the PGA Tour's John Deere Classic.

Deere Run's event will be from 4-8 p.m. It will include two hours of lessons or nine holes of golf playing your own ball or a scramble. A social will be from 6-8 p.m. at Deere Run Grille. Cost is $50 per person.
