A circuit breaker fire at a MidAmerican Energy substation temporarily shut down power Friday to a portion of the nearby Alcoa Davenport Works plant in Riverdale.

The fire was reported at 1:27 p.m., MidAmerican Energy spokeswoman Abby Bottenfield said. Power was restored at 2:10 p.m.

The cause of the fire is unknown. No injuries were reported.

Alcoa spokesman John Riches said the power outage resulted in some equipment being shut down for about 60 to 90 minutes. The outage was on the west end of the facility.
