Trinity Lutheran School donates $5,000

Trinity Lutheran School has won $50,000 through US Cellular and is celebrating by awarding 10 percent of the winnings to charity.

Trinity Lutheran School participated in a fundraising campaign in which the school was one of 18 schools in the nation to share $1 million. Trinity will share $5,000 of the winnings with Lutheran Church Charities for Superstorm Sandy relief. Lutheran Church Charities will provide a comfort dog to the region affected by the storm to assist with healing.

At 1:45 p.m. Jan. 10, an ice cream social celebration will be held in the fellowship hall of Trinity Lutheran Church and School, 1122 W. Central Park Ave., Davenport. Lutheran Church Charities will accept the donation and bring the comfort dog that will be deployed to the storm region.
