Two suspects from Chicago are racking up charges accusing them of stealing wallets from Quad-City area Dollar General break rooms.
Morrison Police Chief Brian Melton announced Thursday that police charged Stephen M. Sato, 32, and Julie Korotkov, 37, with burglary, a Class 2 felony.
Morrison police began investigating a burglary Jan. 3. The two suspects entered the Dollar General in Morrison at 4:45 p.m., and as one suspect distracted employees, the other entered the break room, stole employees’ wallets and left the store, Melton said.
The employees’ credit cards were later used to make purchases in businesses in Clinton, Iowa, and possibly the Quad-Cities, he said.

As the investigation evolved, police discovered that the burglary in Morrison was connected to similar Dollar General incidents in Fulton, Ill., on Dec. 31 and in Port Byron, Ill., on Jan. 3, Melton said.
With the help of the media, social media and area law enforcement, the Fulton Police Department executed arrest and search warrants in rural Thomson, Ill., on Tuesday and took Sato and Korotkov into custody, Melton said.
The two suspects remain in the Whiteside County Jail with bonds set at $200,000 for each.
