A Clinton firefighter was injured Saturday in a house fire that also injured another person at 702 S. 7th St.

Firefighters saw heavy smoke and flames coming from the house where the fire began shortly after 5:30 p.m. Both the firefighter and the other person, whose names have not been released, were transported by Fulton Ambulance to Mercy North.

The American Red Cross is assisting two adults and two children to ensure they have food, clothing, shelter and emotional support after the fire.

The fire was extinguished within two hours. Firefighters from Clinton, Camanche and Fulton, along with a Fulton ambulance crew, were at the scene
