IOWA CITY — The University of Iowa says a student has reported being sexually assaulted at a residence hall on campus.

The school says the student reported the alleged assault Monday morning, but it's unclear when it may have occurred. The student says the assault was committed by an acquaintance.

University police say they're respecting the student's request to not proceed with a criminal investigation at this time.

The Iowa City Press-Citizen says  the report is the fifth alleged sexual assault reported by a UI student since November. It is the fourth reported to have occurred in a residence hall.
