Update: Sterling police report that it has canceled its search of Kenneth J. Carter, 48, of Sterling. Carter has been located in the area and is in good health.


Sterling Police report that a 48-year-old Sterling man is missing.

Family members and friends of Kenneth J. Carter, 48, said he left his residence on the 400 block of Avenue D sometime between 6 and 8:30 p.m. Friday after an argument.

He allegedly told a family member he was going to jump off a bridge and told a family friend he was going to live on the streets.

Carter left the residence on foot and traveled south with a black duffel bag and three grocery bags containing clothing. He last was seen wearing white New Balance shoes, blue jeans, a tan Carhartt jacket and a black stocking cap.
