A microchip/vaccination clinic for pet owners will be offered from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, at the QCCA Expo Center, 2621 4th Ave., Rock Island.

Q-C PAWS is donating $5,000 toward free rabies shots and microchip implants for Rock Island County residents' dogs and cats. Owners must show proof of residency and must get their pet a one-year rabies shot and a microchip at the same time unless they can show proof of a current rabies vaccination or microchip . 

Residents from outside Rock Island County can buy low-cost vaccinations and chips. Other animal vaccines also will be offered at reduced rates. The cost schedule is:

  • Rabies one-year shot, $10.
  • Rabies three-year shot, $15 (must have proof of current rabies vaccination).
  • Bordetella, $10.
  • D-5, $10.
  • FVRCP, $10.
  • Microchip implant, $10

Rock Island County residents also will be able to register their animals at the clinic.
