Harrison Street in Davenport is closed tonight at Locust Street because of a water main break near 15th Street.

During the afternoon, the contractor working on the new apartment building on Harrison between 14th and 15th Streets hit an abandoned water service line, the city said in a news release. Iowa American Water and Peterson Plumbing are working at the scene.

Vehicles are being sent west at Locust to Marquette Street, then south on Marquette to 14th Street, then east on 14th back to Harrison. Drivers are asked to avoid the area.

Also, the 2100 block of Mound Street is closed for a water service repair until Friday.

The Street Division is completing a full-depth patch at 304 Colony Drive. During this time, the eastbound lane will be closed and traffic will be directed to alternate in the westbound lane. This work should be completed by Thursday.
