Erin Litterst, a senior at Rockridge High School, Taylor Ridge, has been chosen for Western Illinois University’s Excellence Scholarship, a $12,000 award to be applied toward four years of tuition, fees and a residence hall room at the school.

High school students with an ACT score of 29 or higher and a grade point average of 3.0 or higher are eligible for the scholarship.

 Litterst also was recently named as an Illinois State Scholar.

The Rev. Rogers Kirk, 61, will celebrate his 18th year as pastor of Third Missionary Baptist Church, Davenport, this weekend at the 10:45 a.m. Sunday service and with a special service at 3:30 p.m. Sunday.
