Western Illinois University’s graphic communication program has been awarded national accreditation through the Accrediting Council for Collegiate Graphic Communications, Inc.

The two-year accreditation period comes after an extensive self-study and visit to WIU by a three-member team of industry and education experts. The honor places WIU among 10 baccalaureate-level graphic communication programs nationwide to receive the distinction.

In their “Visitation Report,” the ACCGC team said WIU “provides a valuable service to its market and is seen by the students, alumni, faculty and staff as a value-adding institution of higher education. The university as a whole and the specific graphic communication program are functioning well despite severe funding limitations.”
