Angela Campbell has been hired as the new director for the Rock Island Public Library.

The library board of trustees will host a public reception to introduce Campbell to the community from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, in the community room of the main library, 401 19th Street, Rock Island.

Campbell will officially begin her duties Jan. 21. She previously served two years as director of the Glenwood Public Library in Glenwood, Iowa. She also worked from 1997-2011 at the Davenport Public Library.

She replaces Ava Ketter who retired in May after 14 years as director, interim director and assistant director.
