Boys and Girls Clubs of the Mississippi Valley has been given a $1,000 donation from the Staples Foundation under a new program that lets Staples associates direct donations.

The Boys and Girls Clubs of the Mississippi Valley has been a part of the Quad-Cities since 1994.

Currently, 200 youth attend one of the Boys and Girls Club locations daily.

Impact areas focused on at the club include academic success, good character and citizenship and healthy lifestyles.

In 2012, U.S. associates directed more than $1.4 million of Staples Foundation grants to 434 local non-profit organizations.
