Sgt. 1st Class Matthew C. Favory, the Force Protection noncommissioned officer of the U.S. Army Sustainment Command, has been inducted into the Sergeant Audie Murphy Club. Membership in the club is restricted to Army NCOs whose leadership abilities, achievements and overall performance merit special recognition.
As the Force Protection NCO, Favory serves on the Provost Marshal’s staff, implementing physical security measures and standards.
He joined the Army in June 2003 and completed basic combat training and advanced individual training at Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri. He has served as team leader, squad leader, platoon sergeant, maneuver and mobility support operations NCO and drill sergeant.
His awards include the Purple Heart; Meritorious Service Medal; three Army Commendation Medals; two Army Achievement Medals; three Good Conduct Medals; the Meritorious Unit Citation; the National Defense Service Medal; the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal; the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal; three Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbons; the Army Service Ribbon; two Overseas Ribbons; the Drill Sergeant Identification Badge; and the Combat Action Badge.
