Vera French Community Mental Health Center has honored two individuals with the Courage and Compassion in the Advocacy of Mental Health Award for their efforts and contributions to improving conditions for people with mental illness.

Anabel Flaherty has been providing psychiatric services to adult outpatients as an adult psychiatric nurse practitioner at Vera French since 1975.

She has dedicated her life to providing quality, accessible and comprehensive care to those suffering from mental illness and has worked compassionately to make their lives more complete.

Patricia Voss joined the Vera French team in 2003 and became executive assistant for the CEO in 2006. Working in credentialing, case management billing and grant writing, she has learned a lot about Vera French and how it works. She has a deep appreciation of the benefits of mental health services provided to the individuals and families affected by the challenges of mental illness.

Voss is committed to making people feel welcome, safe and understood when they seek care at the Vera French Community Mental Health Center.
